Offtopic oddment

Now that you are recovered (and right rejoicing are all right-thinkers), I hear that you have procured a pooch (or perhaps had a pooch presented to your person.) Please post pictures of the pup!

Grow your own!

They taste SO much better, and you know that they have been exposed to nothing but your care and protection.

Strawberries are really easy to handle - in fact, i think that your greatest concern will be to stop them from conquering all your garden.

I recomend building "high-beds" for the plants.
Make a wood frame no larger than 1.2 x 2.4 meters (so you can harvest the centre) and minimum 15 cm high. Place it in a sunny spot of your graden - Fill it with good earth, and plant the strawberrie-plants in a 10x10 cm grid. If you start now, you might get a few berries this year, and a LOT next year... Thats the case in Denmark at least, but i guess it is the same in Oregon - or maybe better :-)

It REALLY would be sad if you dont get to taste the sweet fruit again... did i mention that strawbberries is on my top 3 fruitlist :o)

I am happy to read your story - that is a good sign of you beeing fit for fight again.
